Memory within a dream

it's almost a deja vu feeling, but not quite...

this happens to me occasionally, most recently this morning: in a vivid dream, i have memories of things that have happened within the story of that dream, but i did not actually dream the things i remember. let me clarify: today the dream involved me following a complicated path to where my sister & i were staying in a very strange town. she was at the bed & breakfast, and i had left my phone there charging by accident, so i couldn't tell her where i was or ask her for directions. i remembered the journey to get back based on the fact that she & i had taken the same route earlier that day. except that (as far as I can remember) my dream didn't include the parts i was remembering during the actual dream. this is not a recurring dream, so the information didn't from a previous version of the dream.

i'm having trouble figuring out a better way of describing this, so hopefully it makes sense!

any info or resources you can offer on this interesting phenomenon? i love things like this, from both a perceptive and psychological perspective. any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Cell phones speak of dna/cellular healing and changes that apparently have to do with you and sister.

That is what was truly important in this dream, a message of change and growth. Blessings

thank you, Spirit Wolf. that was the overall feeling i had in the dream - a sureness of the change and growth i am currently manifesting.

hmm, i can think of a wounded place in our bond that does have to do with my own physical healing...i will have to ponder this further.

      thanks again!

Sounds like you are right on the edge of lucid dreaming . . . the fact that you can remember your dream, within the read, and your conscious mind is kicking in to help resolve these issues show how close you are to becoming fully conscious . . .

could be a parallel life. I have dreams where it feels like im remote viewing on another version of myself. It is hard to describe the feeling I get when dreams overlap with the surreal experience of possibly viewing another "you" living another/different life.

oh, what an intriguing idea, Colleen! i do have dreams that could somehow fit into the same category as each other, based on the quality of the visuals and the overall feeling...i've never considered that it could be remote viewing as you suggest. in this particular dream, it was a very first-person experience, though, and i intuitively feel like it was something a bit different. now that i think about it, i felt very much like me in the dream, if that makes sense, even like a heightened, potentially-future-me!
thanks for sharing and keep on dreaming!

I think I know what you're describing, Robin - in the dream you'll have this sudden little moment where your brain sort of goes, wait a minute, something about this, something familiar . . . and then the dream brain looks back and says oh I remember now, before this happened there was this and this whole other thing, and before that this, and in just a moment it's like this huge long memory, an entire history of everything that "happened" before your current dream situation just unfurls in your mind. A very satisfying feeling. A complete history. I actually feel in my mind when doing it a kind of chugga-chugga feeling that feels the way that your computer sounds when it's processing some big job.

I used to think that this meant that I was actually recalling prior dreams I'd had on the same topic, but in the past couple of years I've started actually dreaming episode dreams (variations on the same theme, where I recall in the dream that I dreamed about this before, and what I dreamed, but the feeling in these is quite different). Only by dreaming these new "theme" dreams could I see the difference between the two processes. I now think that in the "complete history" dreams my mind is actually making the entire thing up, all in a flash, just for the fun of it and to enhance the story somehow. In the new "theme" dreams I've easily been able to track the prior dreams on the same topic, because I keep a dream journal now, and these happen like once a week for several weeks.

Sometimes when I speak to myself in my mind, it feels like another me speaking to me. So, maybe when I have these dreams... I speak or send a message to the other self I'm visiting. Then when my other self has an open channel for the message to come through... my other receives this message. Maybe in the waking life, or receives it in the dreamworlds???

I feel I give myself messages, and it is a feeling of another me. Does anyone relate to this?

Could this be part of intuitive awareness? Remote viewing?

Also, I feel the more I practice and learn about dream reality... so much is awakening inside me. Thanks every one for sharing all these wonderful ideas and experiences.

      :)
