Scary Dream- Please help!

topic posted Tue, February 5, 2008 - 1:16 PM by  Jennifer
Hello, First I'd like to say that I NEVER remember my dreams, in fact I haven't remembered one for almost a year. Last nightm however, I woke up sweating with my heart racing and hearing wolves howling. I thout it was something on my computer or my roomate's televisons. It really seemed like the howls were real and close.

All I remember about the dream is just seeing about 5 wolves howling to the starry sky on a rock.I actually got up afterwards and wrote down that it was in Arizona.

If anyone has any suggestions of what this means I'd really appreciate it. The few seconds of my dream that I remember really terrified me.

Thanks =)

    Hey Jennifer! Thanks for sharing your experience here with us. I am a lot like you - most of the time I have a hard time remembering my dreams, and sometimes it is those outrageously scary dreams that pop up and stick in my head. Lately I've been trying to remember just little parts of my dreams here and there and gradually over time it's adding up to remembering slightly more and more. I don't know all the ins and outs of dream decoding so I'm not sure myself what they mean. They are important symbols, though. Sometimes it may simply be the last thing you watched or thought about before you fell asleep. Oftentimes if I'm focusing on something just before I fall asleep - perhaps a negative feeling - or something unappealing I recently saw on tv -it shows up in my dream. I often also hear things in my dreams that I don't know if they're totally of my imagination or if there is some external sound that is being interpreted by my dreaming mind. It's a very interesting topic and I'm glad you have opened the discussion here. I'm curious as to other's thoughts....

    hopefully you've read the post below about wolf dreams? there are some good resources in there, a lot of responses. i think the dream does mean something, especially since it's a once-in-a-while occurrence that you remember them. i'd recommend (just intuitively) to do a little research about what the wolf means in different cultures and mythologies - perhaps Native American, since you instinctively wrote down Arizona. were the wolves menacing to you at all, or was it the pure imagery that scared you? maybe they were telling you something?

      I adore wolves and to me they are nothing to fear!!!! They are family oriented, so many people view them as so evil, all myth all a bad rap. I think a wolf dream could also mean you have a hunch a time to seek settleong down a new den you may say, a journey to a sacred spot. Please honor the wolf, they do what it takes to live free and happy as so many other mammals wish. Wolf dreams to me are about being protective of what and who you love, A wolf loves to sing, do you? I know of wolves personaly I live in Alaska, dear one No worries. just learn from them they are loyal to each other and playful for everyday life they seem to just feel the need to survive thru the mistrust of them!
